Seoni and Chhindwara districts contain Pench National Park. One of the most well-known

national park status in 1975, and recognised as a tiger reserve in 1992. It was designated a
national park in 1983. The total area of Pench National Park is 758 km2 (293 sq mi), of which
299 km2 (115 sq mi) comprise the Mowgli Pench Sanctuary and the park's core. The buffer zone

No child has come to their teenage years, without reading or watching 'The Jungle Book.' The
escapade of the little boy Mowgli, the Bagheera, and the villain Sher Khan written by Rudyard
Kipling was inspired by the beauty of Pench National Park. The places described in 'The Jungle
Book' are the locations marked at Alikatta village and the Seeonee hills. This is the reason,Pench
Tiger Reserve is also popularly known as 'Land of The Jungle Book.'
